PROHIBITION OF MUSIC.

Islam means Submission to Allah ﷻ.
Meaning we take what Allah ﷻ said as Haqq, we take what our Prophet ﷺ said as Haqq.
We obey what they commanded.
We avoid and abstain from what they forbade.
_
Allah ﷻ says in Surah Al Luqman
_And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment._
[31:6]
Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه swore by Allah ﷻ, he swore by Allah ﷻ...Imagine.
He took an oath, how serious must it be for a Sahabi to take an Oath upon Allah ﷻ, and he said This refers to music.
Now ask yourself, do you know better than Abdullah ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه?
Were you closer to Prophet ﷺ than Abdullah ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه?
Do you have MORE knowledge than Abdullah ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه?
Al-Hasan al-Basri رحمه الله said:
This aayah was revealed concerning singing and musical instruments. [Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 3/451]
Al-Sa’di رحمه الله said:
_This includes all manner of haraam speech, all idle talk and falsehood, and all nonsense that encourages kufr and disobedience; the words of those who say things to refute the truth and argue in support of falsehood to defeat the truth; and backbiting, slander, lies, insults and curses; the singing and musical instruments of the Shaytaan; and musical instruments which are of no spiritual or worldly benefit._
[Tafseer al-Sa’di, 6/150]
_
Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari رضي الله عنه:
that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, _"From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful."_
[Sahih al-Bukhari 5590]
_
And again in Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4909 Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه narrates _"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Singing produces hypocrisy in the hearts."_
_
Then you have the famous quote from Ibn Al Qayyim رحمه الله who said _"Qur'an and Music cannot remain in the same heart except one expels the other"_
How many more evidences do you need?
Don't take it from me, take it from Allah, His Prophet ﷺ , a Sahabi and a Scholar!
So when you argue, after being provided with all these evidences, you are arguing with Allah, His Prophet ﷺ a companion and a scholar.
Reflect on that.
_
Then these so-called "Islamic artists" that have now emerged as part of the liberal islamic platform to mislead muslims.
In their arrogance they have now changed Haram into Halal and spread false info.
Doesn't it seem that Allah ﷻ is talking about them when He mentions those who mislead the people away from Allah ﷻ.
_
Fear Allah ﷻ , fill your playlist with beneficial Islamic reminders and recitation of the Glorious Qur'an. Go for it and quit music for the sake of Allah ﷻ.
_
May Allah ﷻ grant us a deep understanding and protect us from all sins.
